Ladies, Is Your Theology Wimpy?

Wimpy theology does not give a woman a god big enough, strong enough, wise enough, good enough to handle the realities of life in a way that enables her to magnify Him and His Son all the time. He's not big enough.

Wimpy theology is plagued by woman-centeredness, or as we usually call it, man-centeredness.

Wimpy theology doesn't have a granite foundation of God's sovereignty underneath. It doesn't have the steel structure of a great God-centered purpose for all of human existence, including the worst of it. -

Ladies, is your theology wimpy?

Watch/read the rest of what Pastor John Piper had to say at the 2008, Revive Our Hearts, True Women conference HERE or dowload it HERE. (His message is lengthy so set aside the time, but do try to set it aside. You will be challenged. Better yet, watch the message by yourself and then watch it again later with your husband and get his thoughts. I bet that he doesn't want you to have wimpy theology either. But, ladies, do not err by asking your husband to watch Piper because you "think" his theology is wimpy. Consider yourself and only ask him to watch if you have watched and been challenged. It is NOT your calling to change your husband or "make" him more "godly". That is God's work alone. You are called to prayer and to worry only about humbling and submitting thyself to God.)

One more quote from Piper (something to really chew on):

God's ultimate purpose for the universe, and all of history, and your life, is to display the glory of Christ in its highest expression in His dying to make a rebellious people His bride. That's the reason the universe exists: To display the glory of God's grace in its highest expression as the Son of God dies to make a rebellious people His bride. -John Piper

P.S. If you haven't opened your Bible this week, do it today! The first place to start to rid yourself of wimpy theology is to read, read, read, and read again the Word of God.

P.P.S. John Piper has more to say on Biblical Womanhood HERE.
